Yahoo - Cannot create app password

Is there a means to use the 2FA code transmitted by Yahoo to complete the login process for mail services?

Currently, we are experiencing a situation where our account has 2FA, but Yahoo will not enable the creation of an app password.

We have other Yahoo accounts where the app password can be created and that of course works fine.

What do you mean by that you can't create app password?

The only alternative I can imagine to app passwords would be OAuth 2.0:

Literally, when attempting to create the app password, Yahoo generates a popup saying:
"Sorry, this feature is not available right now!"

So, in a rare instance like this, is there a workaround such that the 2FA code could be entered and the full credential handshake completed?

I really don't know. I would try to reach Yahoo support.
